    Big Apple Herp Thermostat
    Hey.

I've searched past threads about the BAH1000SC thermostat by bigappleherp.com it seems that some people loved it and recommends it while others do not and recommend a herpstat or a ranco/johnson at very least.

They now have a BAH1000DC thermostat, supposedly better than the SC model. Anyone tried it before (newer model)? It uses a digital smart technology now and can withstand 1000 watts. That's what their site says.

I don't have snakes, but am starting up an online insect feeder business. Some insects need warmer temps to breed much faster while others do not. So I will be having 3-4 bakers racks that are heated by flexwatt 4 inch heat tape along with normal unheated bakers racks. I have the 11 inch now, but won't need that big of flexwatt.

What I like about it is that it is cheaper, has three plug ins and can hold up to 1000 watts. I could hook up 3 flexwatt tapes on the shelves and run each into the thermostat then plug in the thermostat. I understand they make be cheaper and inferior as some people have said, but for this application does everyone still suggest a better thermostat. Losing some feeders is a bit difference from losing a snake. I would be buying 3 of these so I would be getting the discount.

    Thanks, Jeff.

I have the older version and it works fairly well the only problem I have is the highest setting is just enough to keep my tubs at the right temp using 3in flexwatt. Oh and the probe is rather large.
