quarantine help

well I have been posting for some time on here alot alot of questions mostly haha . But I have just finished up my rack I have my largest normal female out to a breeder right now my female weighs 2350 :).

I'm buying a pastel male from him next week they locked up recently today which I'm very pumped about my first breed and just a great feeling in general.

I was wondering when I bring her back home along with new addition what is the proper quarantine process I know the breeder is very clean but like alot of you have said in other threads that doesn't matter. Just wondering how I should approach the situation.

Me personally, I qt on the opposite end of the house for a minimum of 90 days.

60 to 90 days away from your main collection.

Different room

Different supply used

Supply washed in different sinks

Prey item offered need to be kept separately if not eaten by the snakes in QT and not offered to those in the main collection

Must work with the establish collection first and QT animals last.

Pre-treat the enclosure with PAM (provent-a-mite)

When i have a snake come into my home(or in your case come back) i treat with reptile relief then they get quarantined AWAY from my collection.The reptile relief is to kill any possible mites.Oh i dont care if it comes from God himself QUARANTINE THEM!

So this does not matter on how many snakes you have because I only have one at home right now the she is my other one and the male that I'm buying.

Whether you have 1 or 100 you should always quarantine and not put your established animal(s) at possible risk no matter who you are buying from.

IF they are the only 2 snakes you have, and IF they have both been at the breeders, then it is too late to quarantine, as they have both been exposed to each other AT the breeders (if they locked up at the breeders, they have already been together.)

I agree, I can't see how quarantining would be needed if they have both been exposed to each other at the breeders house and then he is sending both of them to you.
When any new snakes come in beyond these two then you'll know what to do...

well my female as been with him for almost 2mons in QT but I'm picking them both up next week and they were put in together in the same tank yesterday and they locked up :). I was just wondering if they both need to be QT when brought back home because my female as been around my other female for over 2 years

If I'm reading this correctly, you have two females, one of which went to the breeder and is paired with the male you are purchasing. In that case, your breeding pair do not need to be quarantined from each other, but they should be kept away from your other female.
