    it does seem a little big i would defiantly throw in some hides and maybe some fake greenery

    I would start in the smaller tub. Do you know how much the snake weighs? I keep my ball pythons in a 15quart tub until they are about 500g then I move them to a 32quart tub.

    i put my smaller bp girl in a cb70 a few months ago, shes growing like a weed and eating like a monster, and shes only 600g!

    I have raised several hatchlings this season in 28qt tubs with only a hide and water bottle.

    2010 July hatch now weighing in at 650 grams
    2010 Aug. hatch now weighing in at 575 grams.

    Given a quiet place to sit that's not in a high traffic area they do just fine in tubs like that.
    A couple of vines and a stick to crawl on wouldn't hurt though ;)

    As long as it eats the tub should work but just for reference:

    0-150 - 6 qt tub
    151-400 - 16 qt tub
    401-1000 grams - 28 qt
    1000+ grams - 41 qt

    Not exact but a reference
