    :( sick rat?
So I have only been doing this a little bit of time but I think I may have stumbled upon my first sick/unhealthy rat? Her eyes are dirty around the eyes she's all white but has like black around the outside of her eyes. Also her eyes are a little glassy but one actually reminds me of a BP eye before a shed, kind of blueish and glazed over.... any thoughts?

    Is she hairless?

She may be blind, or have cataracts.

    nope
Not a hairless, and I mean she has been fine for the last 2 months, i put new food in the "hopper" 3 days ago and when i saw her like an hour later thought that just maybe some of the crushed up dust part got around her face and she would clean it off. well it's 3 days later and it's just gotten worse. Nothing has been changed within the last 2 months either

    happens too all rodents.

I can clean the rodent rack one day and next day find few that just died for no reason.

    Sounds like Myco
Red tears around the eyes and nose can look like black gunk but is actually dark red.
Generally caused from not keeping the bedding clean enough, but can be just stress or a number of other issues.

Albino rats ive noticed are more prone to the flareups. IDK why but 80% of my albinos get it from some reason.

Genetics play a huge role as well as i have one group that has 1 rat that has mycro but others dont. Just keep her as they can still live a good 6+months. If its a pet you will need antibiotics to clear her up

    Meant to say Rats.

As most if not all rats that die will be cause of either old age or mycro causing them to get extremely lethargic and thin over night.

If their not pets or breeders i feed them off

so far i've only had 1 feeder rat die on me. i would've fed it off before hand but the snake still had like 3-4 days til feeding day and i feed her every 7 days so...
i should've froze it after it died but then i would've had the "dead rat in the freezer with our food" issue. eh, worked out in the end anyways cuz that was just an extra rat i bought although i already had the number i needed for the month.

    lost cause?
So only way to clear it up is with antibiotics? would making sure everything was super clean help? like would it eventually go away without antibiotics or no? Granted it is a breeder and not a pet but still since I have a smaller collection it still has pet like feelings =P
