    Insatiable
My ball python has just outgrown the scale-he's a little over 500 grams.
Right now I am feeding a 60 gram rat every 5 days. I am feeding this often because if I don't he starts getting very active, which I take it means he's hungry since he settles into his hide after being fed.

I would move up to a larger food size for less often, but the next size up for rats is 130 grams and I think that's too big. Am I doing alright?

Few crappy pics for reference if it helps (that is the 130g rat that I think is too big)

I think he could probably handle that rat but if you are more comfortable doing what you are doing now I would stick with that. If you don't mind feeding every 5 days I don't think it's going to hurt anything.

I would just continue with the size you are currently using. If your snake is only just over 500 grams, that larger rat may be pushing it a bit. I don't feed my BP anything over about a 90g rat and 70g-80g is about the average that I feed...
