    Introduction and need help!
    Hi all!

I'm new to this forum and fairly new to the world of reptile keeping as well. I've been reading various forums for a while now but recent events have encouraged me to post. I live with a roommate and a couple of days ago she told me she has decided to move out. Now while there are other factors involved and we are going to try to split as amicably as possible she cited my reptiles as one of the reasons she wants to leave. She said they "freak her out". I don't even have that many! I have eight geckos and two juvenile ball pythons. Every enclosure is in my bedroom where she never has to see them and I take great care of everyone so there is never any smell. Her cat's litter box is more noticeable than my reptiles!

Anyway, I'm feeling really crappy because of it. I don't think my reptiles are the whole reason but just an excuse she is using but I do feel that she is being very judgmental towards me. Instead of being happy that I have found a hobby that I love she is moving out and has trash talked about me to all of our mutual friends. So if anyone is in the South Florida area and would like to chat let me know! I think I need to start talking to be people with interests similar to my own.:)

Some folks will never be comfortable with reptiles. I had a gal from work just tell me yesterday that snakes were 'unnatural'. Go figure. I am new here too.

I am moving to Florida, Well Clearwater. And if that room is still available if its close then i would not mind any reptile! ahah but no i know how you feel. my mother tells me that is any of my snakes leave my room and she finds them near her then she is going to chop their head off. She also told me that snakes are the devils animals and that snakes kill women for their breast milk. i swear she is literally retarded.

Sounds like a bad roommate. Trash talking and all. I've learned not to care what anyone thinks. If anyone I know gets freaked out or wont be around me cause of my reptiles then I could really care less.:P

To each their own.............find someone with the same interests to rent with. Then watch your collections start to grow:gj:
