uth for a stand alone tub
I was wondering if i was to get a bp and use a tub how would the uth work on it? and will the uth be sufficient for heat? I know in an aquarium they use a heat lamp to.

I have a 4000 + gram female that needs her own tub. She's just too big for the rack, so I got a Exo Terra Heat wave Desert UTH. I like it much better than the Zoo-Med. It's thinner and a little stickier. I still used some aluminum foil tape to help adhere it to the tub and I used a simple rheostat to keep the temps around 90. I didn't want to buy a thermostat for just that one tub and the rheostat seems to be working great.

No, you do not need any lamps. Just set up the tub like you would a tank otherwise. I recommend a 15 quart sterilite for a small snake (under 450 grams) and a 32 quart tub for an adult. A big female gets a 41 unless she's huge like mine, then it's a 90 quart. Don't forget to drill a couple holes for air. Also, I use reptibark substrate as it holds humidity better. If it causes condensation buildup in the tub, use aspen instead.

Ok. I hope this was helpful!

As long as the room the tub is in doesn't get extremely cold, you should be good to go.

I would strongly urge you to use a thermostat rather than a rheostat that will need regular adjustments to keep a steady temperature.
