Do eggs need air?

I was gonna throw my 3eggs in a rubbermaid tub with the lid on and put them in a closet like incubator room. So I'm wondering do I make a hole or two for air or do I just open the lid once a week? Also if I go to homedepote what kind of vermiculite am I looking for?

Many people use tubs and seal it with press and seal to hold in the humidity, you might consider that. Generally I hear open it once a week, and when it gets to the last 2-3 weeks open every ~3 days.

I'm not sure which type of verm you need, I used hatchrite last year and I'm using up the rest this year.

The perlite or vermiculite should be the kind that doesn't have fertilizers and such in it. Miracle-Gro makes one that doesn't say outright on the front label, but it has fertilizers, so pass on that. It won't make the snakes grow faster. :D

I got a bag of plain at Ace hardware, some small offbrand. As far as eggs needing air, they do, but they don't need a airhole or a lot of exchange, so as long as you open it up every week, like SS said there.
