    egg tub setup
    when do you guys get your egg tubs setup and put into the incubator?? do you guys do it early so they have time to warm up or do you do it when the eggs are laid??

    You need to get your incubator up and running before to make sure your temps are stable and everything is calibrated properly, if you do it after the eggs are laid it's a little to late and if you have to play around you might be at risk to lose your clutch.

    I usually start mine 2 to 3 weeks after my first ovulation.

    I think he's talking about the egg tubs and not necessarily the incubator. It doesn't hurt to set up the egg tubs early, but it probably won't hurt anything unless the substrate was kept somewhere really cold...mine's in the snake room so it doesn't matter...

    i had my incubator running about a week ago just to get the temps stable. i think im gonna get a couple tubs setup and put them in so when eggs come i can just pop them in and be all set. my girl is looking like shes gonna go so im gonna get ready. thanks

    Breeders I have talked to said that they get their egg boxes ready a few days before they expect the eggs so the box is up to temp when the eggs go in!
