Menstruation (periods) - Mexican Black King snake
Please excuse me if this is an embarrassing or silly question.

Do female Mexican Black King snakes have Menstruation (having periods)?

The reason I ask is because my juvenile MBK released some clear liquid containing traces of red fluid just after wagging her tail when I was handling her.

    Cheers.

    No, snakes do not menstruate.

Just a vigorous expression of liquid is all. She probably pushed something out too hard?

Is the appearance of blood a 'normal' symptom?

Is there anything to be concerned about?

    Cheers.

Could just be the color of her feces/urates. Sometimes mine will push out green as well. Is it a lot of blood, or just a small trace?

It was just a small trace of it.

Im no expert, but I wouldn't worry about it too much. Could be from passing something a little sharp. I would keep an eye on her next time though, just in case. Or if you start to consistently see traces in the tank, then I would worry. Good luck :gj:
