    2 Under Tank Heaters?
My room is chilly in the winter and i dont want to use bulbs. i have a ten gallon, could i use two under tank heaters hooked up to two thermostats? one for the cool and one for the hot side? im setting up for a ball python.

The simple answer to your question is yes.

As long as you set up a heat gradient so the snake has a warm end a cool end then it really doesn't matter how you achieve that.
Some people use a smaller uth on the cool end to raise the ambient temps in a tank and it works fine, especially controlled separately with 2 t-stats :)

I'm going to have to disagree....

UTH's aren't really good enough to raise the ambient temps in a tank...They will help with basking temps, but really won't do too much for the air temp. I mean if your just off by a couple of degree then maybe, but if your room is like 68 degrees or lower, it won't be good enough.

    You'd be surprised.

There is a few things to also do like covering 95% of the lid so heat doesn't escape.
If you set the hot end UTH at 92-93 and the cool end uth to 85-88 then the ambient temp should raise sufficiently.
It is after all a 10 gal tank.

I've done it before and it doesn't work lol...

I guess it depends how cold the room is, and what your definition of cold actually is. Here in upstate NY it gets really cold...And when I tried it I couldn't get it above 73. It was 68 in my room at the time.

I knew a simple "you're wrong" probably wouldnt work... Here's some proof that 2 uths will work fine ;).

Picture of ambient temps off of uth.

Picture of hot spot temps (the peak temp was in a crevice so a little warmer).

This is with only 1 uth! The room is 69-70*F the uth hot spot is 90*F the ambient temps are 78-80*F. With two uth you can easily bump up the ambient temps :).

Well I was referring to a tank setup not tubs...Although I am quite surprised at how effective it seems to be working for you. I could never get my ambient temps up to where I wanted using uth's in my tanks...learn something new everyday...thanks for the pics btw. I'm a see it to believe it kind of guy, so thanks for the proof.
