ball-pythons and ringers: how can you tell the difference between a male and a female
I just acquired a het albino and a het pastel ball-pythons. I know that one is a female and the other is a male but how can I tell which is which? I have tried looking at the underside but don't really see much. HELP!

The only sure ways are to probe or pop them and you shouldn't try that if you dont know how.

I believe The only two ways there is to properly sex a snakes is,one is popping the snake and the other is probing ,the popping is the preferred way to go when you are a beginner and still then you should have some one showing you,The other method probing should only be done by experts or someone who really know what they are doing/herp vet. I am no expert but i am pretty sure i supplied a decent enough answer but still wait for others to reply i am sure you will get more detailed answers from them.Good luck.

Here is a video made by Ralph davis, showing how to properly pop and probe snakes ,this help me loads and hopefully it can help you as well.(its to parts)

Popping and probing. There are videos of big breeders showing tutorials on how to do both. Both could potentially harm your snake though.

No such thing as a het Pastel darling. Hope somebody didn't pull the wool over your eyes on that one. :(

As to telling male from female, only by popping or probing, and ONLY someone with experience should do that. Vets who handle snakes on a regular basis can do it for a minimal fee, or if you find a very nice local breeder they might be willing to help.

indeed. If you were sold a normal looking bp that claimed to be het for a codom morph you my friend just got served. i'd give that guy a call but chances are if he sold you it as such he is either trying to pull one over on ya or is just misinformed, either way it's bad.

but... if you just have a pastel het albino.....disregard this post lol.
