    Sick crestie, HELP!
My 1 1/2 year old male crestie, Spartacus, took a mouthful of coconut mulch today. I didn't realize that he had until hours after the fact, when I went in to feed him. I've spent the last hour trying to wash what was still in his mouth out, and he also coughed some up, but he definitely swallowed quite a bit - he's pooped out a little bit, and he's lethargic. I've removed all his cage furniture, put him on paper towels, and moved his cage to the main bathroom, which is the most humid room in the apartment. He has food and a huge dish of water, and he has managed to eat a little bit. I don't know what else I can do for him at this point aside from wait and pray.

Can anyone give me any advice on helping my crestie survive the night?

    Update!

Spartacus is looking much better, he's wide awake and back to his stubborn self. He got quite a bit of mulch out of himself into the water bowl, which I've changed out for clean water. He's not great yet, but he's definitely improving.

Good luck with him! There isn't much you can do except watch and wait.

This is why with geckos its best not to use loose bedding as when going after insects they will get the bedding in the mouth.

He should recover in time but dont feed for few days, give plenty of water fresh daily.
