Female building and getting ready to shed
So she last shed Oct 14th, and has been locking with my males since mid Nov. She is in blue and getting ready to shed again. She is doing some side laying and she was doing bowl wrapping, but I havent seen her do that in over a week. She still easts like a monster (she eats up until she lays eggs) so I can never go off of that. She is about the size of a soda can, maybe larger. Not sure if this is her pre lay shed or not, but Im gonna get the incubator ready in about 2 weeks, just in case.

So here she is, she is getting HUGE (3233g):

I wish i could tell if my female is gravid. She was already the size of a coke can and i dont know how to palpate. Plus she eats like a starved coyote. My advice, as they say, no way you'll miss her ovy. They look like they ate a jumbo cat. Lol thats what im waiting for. Ur girl could just be devekoping folicles and not yet gravid.

    Good luck

They only ovy for about a day so you can miss it if you don't check on them all the time! It is pretty easy to palpate! Watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxtYxSGs5tc

Man have i tried, and she just shed 2 weeks ago after 4 months of solid locks. But she is still eating. So idk if this last shed was a pre ov shed or not but she is still growing and i really have just decided, ill know when shes gravid when she stops eating. Unless shes a "never quits" kinda girl. Than it will be a total surprise

Yea I am kinda in the same boat as you. I have my spider and my pastel that have been locked uo since oct 1st and they are both getting big but are still eating. They are both doing the bowl wrapping and I saw my spider laying on her side. I just have the incubator ready just in case. Pastel shed 10 days ago. Its my first year so I'm trying to observe everything that I know but its still difficult

That's what I was thinking. Since she has been this size for a constant period of time now and slowing gaining more weight, I figured she still hasn't ovulated yet. I check on all my snakes at least twice a day, so there's no way I would miss an ovy. Still very exciting though :D Can't wait to see her "blow up" for those couple days hehe
