deworming with mebendazole?

hi, is it safe to deworm a 290g honduran milk with mebendazole(antiox)? my hondu milk is not gaining weight despite of aggressive feeding, he is already 2 years now, what is the recommended dosage for this? we dont have a reptile vet here in our area, thanks in advance

Mebendazole is 20-25 mg/kg orally every 14 days.

Other than not gaining weight, what other indicators do you have that he has endoparasites?

hi skiploder, he is also having some lump in he's body, i've heard before that it is also a sign of worm infestation,thanks a lot :)

It can also be a sign of something else.

While I don't recommend it, I understand your dilemma. Just know that de- wormers can be very hard on snakes and you have to be extremely careful to calculate your conversions safely.

Keep this in mind - I've had imported snakes come in that put on weight just fine and came replete with several different types of worms.

Give it a go, but if he doesn't start putting on weight, or if you notice no change in his physiology, he should got o a vet. That mid body swelling and lack of weight gain can be an indicator of something much much worse.
