Ball Python hasnt eaten in 2 months
Hi I'm having a problem with my 5-6 yo ball python. Its last feeding was in the beginning of November but since then the snake is very un-interested in its prey.
It fed in the begining of November, & shed in December. When I tried to feed in the beginning of January it was very uninterested in its meal, but its still highly
active at night. Could the cause of this be that its winter time? I mean the snake has done this maybe 1-2 times before, but it eventually eats.

    Hi,

Can you run us through the standard chcklist?

Enclosure type, temps (hot and cold end including how and where you measure ), weight and sex of the snake and how the weight is changing since it stopped eating?

How long have you had it?

    Yes, the particulars would help.

FYI though we have had to male ball pythons go off food for 10 months straight. They normally start their strike at the beginning of breeding season, October/Novermber and while not knowing for sure it seems they go back on once most the girls if not all have laid. They don't tend to do it every season though. Our Albino Male did it our first breeding season. Then starting on the second season he has started to be an indicator. He stops at the beginning of breeding season and once the girl he is paired up with is close to laying eggs he starts eating again.
