    Ball Python Hide Question
I just bought a baby ball python and a small rock hide and a small bark hide. The heat pad wasnt enough heat in the later times of day so i bought a red night light for her and want to know if i should have the heat light over the rock? or will that just turn into an oven and cook her? or should i just put it over the flat bark hide? or if these are both too hot how should i set it up? should i have the rock on the hot side or cool side? or does it even matter? just wanted to make things perfect for her :)

You should have 2 sides to you tank, a cool side on one end and a warm side on the other. You should have ideally 2 identical hides, one on the warm and one on the cool. Both the heating pad and light should be on the warm side with a thermometer with a probe in your warm hide to keep track of how warm it is in there. That way you won't have to worry about how warm it gets in there.
Also you should have some sort of rheostat or thermostat hooked up to the heating pad so the temp doesn't get too warm if the room warms up.

Listen to this ^^^^^^ and you'll be good. Couldn't say it better myself.

Pictures are awful helpful in these situations, so if possible put some up!

I agree with Agent73, a warm side and a cool side is best. About the warmth of his hide, he should be fine. You have to remember that they like it 80 to 90 degrees and they could tolerate temperatures above that also. If his hide does get too hot, he'll move.
