Is a 60 quart tub too big for an adult BP?
I'm thinking of getting an adult BP that's about 3 1/2 to 4 feet long and I was wondering if a 60 quart tub is too big? I found one at Target where the dimensions are 34.6" X 18.8" X 7". It's the one they sell that has the wheels on the bottom of it but I'll pop the wheels off and use something else to give me more space underneath. Anyway, I'd like your opinions on this. Here is the tub I'm looking at. This is for a set. I think one is about 15 or 20 dollars at the store. Is there a chart somewhere that gives you recommendations on tub sizes according to how long the BP is? If this is a little big, would it still be OK to use as long as I clutter it up a bit inside so he/she feels secure but can still have room to stretch out a bit? Just wondering, thanks.

Nope, that wouldn't be too big at all, especially if she's already almost 4 feet. Besides maybe being a bit short height wise, I'd say it would be a great size :)

So, you think 7 inches might not be high enough then? I've read that they don't need much space in terms of height since they're more of a terrestrial snake. That's why I picked this one since it seems to be good with floor space. Thanks for your help.

I use 41 Qt tubs for all my adults. They are about $7 each and mine have plenty of room in those.

Yes, they are more of a terrestrial snake and spend a lot of time in burrows, etc in the wild, so I'm sure 7 inches wouldn't be bad or anything. I just like to spoil my snakes and give them more room to move around with 10-12 inches of height. That's just me though, and I'm sure 6-7 inches works perfectly well too. Floor space is definitely more important.

You can use them. Just set it up like you would a tank. 2 hides, waterbowl, and anything else you want to add to it. My Dumerils currently resides in one...
