NO more live!
It is feeding day for Kaa today and the freaking mouse bit her!!!!!!! I managed to get a piece of metal ( a bracelet I had on my dresser lol) between the top teeth and my baby and so she didn't actually have broken skin but that little furry dinner was the last live for us. We were already planning on switching over and that was just the kick I needed to decide now is a good time... and no I wasn't worried about getting bit putting my hand in there with her eating .. I was worried about the mouse trying to chew on her side! :P

Your lucky it was just a little mouse. Larger rats have been know to turn predator into prey.
In most cases switching to f/t is also much cheaper :gj:

yeah I am sure it will be cheaper for us.. especially long term ( many more snakes in the future :P) I didnt want to switch her to rats before F/T for that reason.. and the little mouse is now dinner and the last live food thing in my house I hope.

Re: NO more live!
u sure are lucky, i fed live when mine were babies but switched over very quickly before a rat was big enough to really do some damage. you really do want to switch over, there are sooooo many benefits of f/t

I'm sure glad your baby is alright !!!
You shouldn't have any trouble with F/T, some of the snakes I've gotten weren't only fed live (they all were on live) but also on mice.
I switched them all over to f/t rats right away ! No problems, either.

All my snakes were being fed live hopper mice before I bought them. I had ZERO, and I mean ZERO problems getting them to take F/T adult mice on their first feeding with me.
I guess you read a lot about switching problems because people tend to complain more than post POSITIVE experiences. :D
