Hillbilly Snakes? or inbred babies?

Ive got a quick question how far out do you have to breed a snake out genetically so nothing happens like hillbilly snakes.

Say if you had a male pastel and 3 normal femals all un related genetically and I bred male to female A and B could The male breed with those babies to make a super or to close?
Or those babies could they breed together because they are step bro/sis?
Or would i have to breed baby male pastel from A to female C then the baby from that batch can go back to its grand father(original pastel)?

Or does it not really matter with snake then say cats birds and fish.

Thus far there has been very little evidence of issues inbreeding ball pythons (or other snakes for that matter).

If you have any morph, like the spider morph, that animal is many generations following form the originally found spider. There are LOTS of spiders out there. Same with pinstripes, pastels, etc.

Hillbilly is kind of an odd term for you to use. Humans who inbreed generally don't become "hillbillies" which indicates stupidity. Extra limbs or genetic diseases are more likely.

There are definitely some things that are related to this topic. Spider wobble is genetic, so is in all spiders to an extent because the first spider had the gene, but can be selected out of certain lines as well. All in all, you have nothing to worry about. Breeders inbreed for lots of generations without any issues.
I would recommend introducing fresh genes every couple generations, but you're probably not going have to worry about that unless you become a big time breeder.

Sweet i was hoping that i wouldnt have to get anymore normal females. But i can make a baby go back into its parent no problems then it cuts time of my planned projects :D.

Yup, breeding back to the parents is something very commonly done among breeders.

You say it like hillbilly is a bad thing.

Blackcrystal22's post pretty much sums it up, but I feel like lecturing anyway ... :rolleyes: Here's my inbreeding rant:

Inbreeding concentrates genes.

It can concentrate good genes.

It can concentrate bad genes.

It does not just mean breeding brother to sister or parent to offspring. It can also mean that there is a lot of "background inbreeding," meaning that, if you go back in the pedigree, certain names are repeated over and over again.

A LOT of animal breeds (livestock, horse, dog, etc.) have a lot of background inbreeding. This can be so great that a lot of these breeds are more "inbred" than a snake that was produced from breeding parent to offspring, even if the dog, cat, etc., has no "inbreeding" for five generations back. (If you go back further than five, you start to see a LOT of repeat names ...)

Some bad things that can happen with inbreeding include inbreeding depression (generalized "poor doer" offspring, poor fertility, etc.) or the uncovering of a hidden detrimental recessive trait, such as having no eyes. In a way, though, the "uncovering" of really bad recessive genes isn't such a terrible thing, because then you know it's in that bloodline and can work towards eliminating it, or else cull the line entirely. (If you always outcross, you may end up spreading the gene all over the place before you realize it.)

The opposite of inbreeding depression is heterosis, AKA "hybrid vigor."

The advantages of inbreeding include "fixing" good traits in a bloodline, and more consistent results when breeding.

Inbreeding is going to concentrate good genes and bad, so if you're inbreeding make sure it's a very good quality line. It is a tool, to be used judiciously.

My mom is from Eastern Tennessee so every time we see Dolly Parton or Megan Fox on TV I tell my kids it's their cousin but they don't buy it. Might actually be related to Dolly.
