Show me yours and I'll show you mine!
    Snake room that is!

My husband started on what will eventually become my snake room down in the basement. Right now it isn't too much, but its a work in progress. Once we clean it up a bit, I am going to snap some pictures and see what you guys think.

But, since this is the first 'snake room' I have ever had, I'm looking for cool ideas. I'm limited on height since the room is in the basement and the ceiling is low. My husband is 6' tall, and he hits his head. I however, am 5' tall, and it does not bother me one bit. We are planning on putting in a utility sink, and I have access to hot and cold water.

So, I am asking you, wonderful world of Bp.net to show me what ya got!

lol you definitely need a snake room with that collection you've got going there...i have only 1 snake right now and it's in a terrarium on our dresser in our bedroom. i hope to have a total of 3 bp's and MAYBE a nicaraguan boa.
for which, IF i were to be able to get up to that #, i at that point would build a shelf unit for the cages. this is an illustration i did via the computer's paint program...

this is really designed with JUST the 3 bp's in mind with the seperate rat cage stand but if i were able to get the boa i would either put that on top or have it on my dresser since i really want to put a mantle on top of this shelf unit & the whole unit would be next to the dresser. as you can see i showed the dimensions, materials needed and the costs for said materials.

I've just got a simple 4 tub set-up. I had them in my computer room, but I needed to move them to re-model the room. Plus it was time to upgrade some of the tubs. So after some modifications to the shelves and tubs, they now live in the gun room.

    I changed it from this...

    To a more user friendly...

Ok So this is the beginning of the snake room:

(Please note there is heat under the bins, they are just in a temp place while we build some new rack systems. The blanket is to protect them from the massive amounts of dust my husband was making while working.)

This is when you walk into the basement into the one side room. There will be a door here eventually.

This shows the right side. Eventually there will be walls, but we are not certain about a ceiling yet. As I said before, its very low. I think a ceiling will make it feel too closed in.

This is the other side, showing the very gross wall. Behind where I am standing is the other wall, where the racks will end up going.

    So that's it so far!
