uhg! help!

My stupid friend lost my baby boa one night when he was drunk (i now lock my tanks lol) and i just found him on the floor in my bathroom... thought was dead at first... SERIOUS SERIOUS shedding problems... when I touched at first he didn't even move for a few minutes.

when i say serious shedding problems I mean like. SERIOUS... he can hardly move its so dried/crapped on... i have him in a lukewarm soak w/ some sponges and towels..... hopefully this will help him.....

it works for my BP so i guess the same? if i cant get his shed off should i take him 2 a vet?

Pictures would help. But going on what you've said, here's what I would do.

Let him soak for about 30 minutes...then put him back in his cage with plenty of fresh water, and warm temps. Repeat the process tomorrow and for another day or two if needed. After a couple days of soaking, if he seems to be feeling better and is more alert, then try holding him with a wet towel and let him slither through the towel...see if that helps get skin off. So long as he continues to show improvement, just keep up that routine until he's all better. Then feed him.

My guess would be that the extreme lethargy you saw would be due to being too cold and/or dehydration. The warm cage and soaking routine should help with both. Also, keep an eye out for signs of respiratory infection.

I'm not a boa person and am just saying what I believe would be a helpful routine. Some of our boa experts may say something different.

I think he drowned :< :< !@#$%^&*(()... i doubt snakes can go unconscious, and he isnt moving... or had underlaying problems that i didn't know about, uhg!

Sorry to hear that. If this ever happens again, put the snake in a wet pillow case. This will help with shedding, while not being life threatening.

Sorry to hear that. It really stinks that he dies right after you find him.:tears:

what I dont get is, my ball python was lost for 5 months once and was fine.... he was gone a week and dies... uhg oh well
