    ball pythons in car
Hi people! I am transporting my bp from Florida to new York by car. Since I have no way to heat him other than putting him under my sweat shirt would this be ok for him as it is only around 18 hours? How long can they stay below recommended temp and be fine?
    Thanks in advance

You could always just buy a cheap styrafoam cooler from a gas station, put your snake in a pillowcase, get a heat pack(or a handwarmer), tape the (opened)heat pack/handwarmer to the inside of the lid of the cooler, poke 4-6 holes in the cooler, put the snake(in the pillowcase) into the cooler, close the cooler and then you should have optimal temps for your snake the whole way! Also monitor the temp inside the cooler(probably everytime you stop to take a wizz) and just open it if it gets a little too hot.

Anyone see any reason why that wouldnt work??

Thanks for your answer but do u know anything bout my other question? Since I already drove most of the way with him either in my sweat shirt or in his enclosing would there be any side effects?

The answer for that question varies between each snake and the conditions. I am guessing that your car heater is not working...

Yup a/c and heater broke :( or else this would have been easily solved....but he seems ok now under my shirt...I guess if he starts getting too hot ill cool him off then put him back....

This is how I would do it. I can't imagine it's safe or comfortable having him under your sweatshirt for 18 hours of driving. What are you going to do with him for pit-stops?
