Photographing Locks

This may be my silliest question yet ... :rofl:

I've seen a lot of really good, full-body pictures of locks that people have obviously taken by pulling the tub out to get the picture. I'd like to photograph my locks like that to have a record of breedings (like Albey does - http://www.albeysreptiles.com/balls_a_list.htm ). However, I'm always paranoid that pulling open the tub too far to get a good picture will disturb them. :rolleyes:

Do y'all find that they sometimes will "unlock" if you pull the tub all the way out to snap a pic, or are they too deep in the zone?

Well, it really depends.
I normally open the tubs gently and the majority of them dont unlock.
i've only had them unlock once cause i pull the tub out too hard... but they return to their lock quickly afterwards :)
so although i'd say it bothers them a little while wont be too much of an effect :P

Yeah, I worry about that, too. I've seen a lot more locks through the plastic than I've been brave enough to try photographing.

The one time I did open a tub up to take pictures, they stayed locked, but they both got very restless. I don't know how long they stayed locked afterward.
