How many of you find it easier to just heat the snake room to 90-94 and eliminate the all of the heat lamps/ uth/ect.?

If you can afford the electric bill go for it. But most a that do room heat keep a steady 88F.
Even those who do room heat still have belly heat encase heaters were to die and room was to cool down, the belly heat would take over.
Just not worth it unless you have hundreds upon hundreds of snakes.

The only problem with this that would really bother me is, do i want to work in a snake room that is so hot that i start sweating? Nope haha!
I want my snakes to be comfortable but I want to be comfortable in the snake room too :P

I heat my room to 80. It keeps the electric bill down, but sure makes it easy to keep the tub temps up.

I wouldn't see why that would benefit me or my snakes. For one, they won't be able to thermoregulate. Two, I am already hot enough with the room being 78-80 while cleaning cages.

This would be far too hot as an ambient temp for ball pythons. Some big breeders will heat their snake houses to around 84 degrees...and not use supplemental heat. Works well for VPI, anyhow. ;)

I keep my room at about 80-82 and run my flexwatt as usual in my racks. Like someone else said, I dont wanna be in a room that feels like im on the beach cleaning cages lol and also like also said the snakes wont have any other temp to go to to adjust body temp.

Like many others, I keep my room at 80-82 and even that gets me pretty hot and sweaty while cleaning everything!

Thanks for all of the input!!! I keep alot of corns and they normally should be around the 84 mark so keeping balls in the same room with some suplemental heat would work good. house not big enough for two seperate rooms anyways.

I have taken a different approach. I use dual heat with dual controls the room is quite comfortable but the snakes still have a low side heat set to 80 and hot side at 90 and I am not roasting or spending a fortune in heating bills. I spent it in herpstats ;) I figure they will pay them selves off in a year or so...
