    WAAAAH! I'm a big sissy!
well my baby BRB has made it clear that only live food will be consumed.
Fed off my very first live item (fuzzy mouse) today and I am literally a wreck.
    That poor little thing!

    *sniffle*

I think it will be quite some time before I can try to convert to F/T again, so I need to suck it up and get used to this.
    I'm a huge sissy!

Once you do it a few times hopefully you'll get used to it enough you'll stop feeling guilty for keeping your pet (who DEPENDS on you!) happy, healthy, and well-fed. Circle of life, blah blah blah.

Once you start killing feeders and freezing them yourself, you'll know that you've become able to mentally deal with it. Try to channel your inner predator.

actually, I observed something and wanted to ask about it

when I fed live, the tub was left with this really pungeant odor that I never smelled when feeding f/t. has anyone noticed that? maybe it's mouse urine?
    weird.

Hmm, I actually have more trouble with "whacking" the rodent for a fresh kill feed than I do with letting the snake kill it. : P I know stunning prey is a necessary evil to avoid bites, but I feel worse if I am the one hurting the small fuzzy helpless thing than if the snake is just doing it to eat.

You'll feel less bad for rodents after one bites you though. A mouse bit me and I was all too glad to give it to one of my snakes. Also, hamsters have disgusting long yellow teeth... :rage:

Not that I am a rodent hater but I've had to feed live and when one of my snakes didn't want to eat I had to keep the mouse for a week. I kinda felt bad the for the little fella but he stunk so bad. The mouses pee and poop smelled nasty. And I cleaned his tub everyday and had a watering thing for him.but man mice stink. I hated feeding him to my snake but once he was gone it smelled a lot better haha

so my second live prey purchase has taken an interesting turn. My boa is in blue and decided not to eat. Now I have a temporary pet mouse and the little sucker is so CUTE I could almost DIE!
