Re: How do i sex my ball
There are a lot of youtube videos that show the proper way to probe or pop your snake to determine the sex of it. I really recommend that you find a good breeder or a vet to show you how its done though.

Re: How do i sex my ball
For anyone wanting to learn how to sex their snake(s), I'd recommend having somebody who knows how (breeder, vet, etc) show you how in person. If done incorrectly, popping and probing can both seriously injure the snake.

This, as much as I know how intellectually I won't attempt it until I can have someone with experience show me in person. Btw, does popping and probing work on all snakes? I'd like to know the sex of the little corn we got on Christmas Eve.

Yes probing works on all snakes, but popping not so much. You wouldn't catch anyone deal popping a GTP or ETB, ,also other smaller snakes like corns can be very difficult to pop. So sometimes probing with a very tiny probe is better, or if you have a much larger snake like a burm or Retic, unless your hulk, you wont be able to pop them. That's when probing comes in handy sometimes when popping just isn't possible.

Please, people, make sure you are being careful when you do this kind of thing. It can give your snake a prolapse or tear internal tissues if you do it wrong. I know not everyone has the money to go to the vet's but you really should take a new snake in to a reliable, knowledgeable veterinarian if you are new to owning snakes. A good vet will make sure your snake is being fed properly, housed well and kept at good temps. They can also provide you with extra information and check their poop for worms. If you can afford it, it is well worth the money. be sure they see reptiles regularly and know their stuff! Ask any local reptile people if you need recommendations.
