    Feeding females?!?!
So just curious. My females I want to breed are at almost 1400 and 2200 grams. They are still on feed and eating like champs. Been feeding them a good size meal ( almost a lump size) every 5 days to gain some weight for this season. They are not looking chubby and I don't want to overfeed and have them to fat and lay slugs. What kinda feeding schedule do you use on your females at this season? I want to put a little more weight on my 1400 girl but my 2200 was at about 1400-1500 when she layed last season, so she has defenetly gained her weight back and is ready to go.

I hear about feeding bigger BP's every 10-14 days, but then I hear that females want to eat alot to give them substance to reproduce. So I'm stuck.. do I cut back some?? or do I stay?? maybe cut back on the big girl and stay with the 1400??

    Help..

I offer all my adult females once a week, all my adult males once every other week and all my growing snakes twice a week, keep everything simple

I meant to ask at what age or weight are they consider 'growing' and 'adult'? Thanks

IMHO, just keep feeding them the way you normally would. All my adult girls get a normal sized meal every week, even in the breeding season. Once mine ovulate, they have always refused further meals; and if they didn't, I'd stop feeding them at their pre-lay shed anyways.
    Best of luck Jeremie!

no age group, i consider growing males up to around 800ish or so grams and females around 1200ish or so. seems after they get so big, feeding them twice a week they just poop out half a rat, not fully digested so your wasting food.
