    Sunglow RTB breeding question
Hey guys, so I know that a sunglow is an albino + hypo. My question is this. I read on a forum post that Albino + Albino rtb's can have problems with there eyes.

Thats about all the info I got, I was just wondering. Are there any genetic problems that can occur in sunglow rtb's?

Also what's the deal with the Albino+albino genetic problem I couldn't find any more info than what I Said above.

    Thanks
    David

I have heard the same thing about the genetic defect with albinos. The albino mutation in Colombian red tails is a weak mutation, and breeding an albino to an albino increases the chance of creating albinos with bad eyes. With this in mind, you should breed the albinos to hets instead of to another albino. I have produced one litter from a salmon het albino to an albino. All of the albinos and sunglows were fine except one of the sunglow's eye is messed up. I do believe it was from a bad first shed on his eye, but it could have been messed up from birth, however. I really have not way of knowing, since I was in Europe during his first two weeks after being born.
