Scales slightly protruding out along underside

He is going through a shedding process as I can see a slight pink color around his whole underside. I don't really observe my snake when he is in shed as I like to leave him alone while in this process. I felt the need to because I was randomly feeling a little worrisome. I inspected him very carefully and I see that the scales along his underside are poking out just a little. I was afraid it maybe scale rot, but I don't see any deterioration or irritation. His behavior seems normal, too. I'm thinking he could be a little dehydrated. Please give me feedback on this unfortunate cause, I'm scared for him. Thanks.

Well with scale rot the scales are usually discolored and nasty looking, since they seem to be fine I doubt it's that. I've never heard of belly scales protruding as signs of dehydration though. Maybe you can take a pic, that would help a lot but I doubt it's anything serious, probably nothing.

When they're in the shed cycle they naturally start to look dehydrated because they're not providing moisture to the dead skin anymore, so it's completely normal that his belly scales stick up a little bit as a sign of dehydration. Don't be worried if there's no sign of obvious discoloration (black/brown stuff), it's probably just what happens to him when he sheds. The pink belly is normal, most all ball's get pink bellies near the shed cycle, no worries :)
