What is a direct import item?
Since none of the geeks in Waltahs section knew anything. BG was wondering if any of the rest of you Nerds know anything.:D

BG was looking at cameras on line and noticed that "direct import items" were cheaper(a lot), but came with no warranty. BG has never used a warranty in his life so it doesn't matter all that much.

Just wanna know if anyone has any experience buying this type of item on line.

    waltah!
Are they direct imported from the back of a truck or possibly a white van? No warranty included would be a dealbreaker for me, especially if it's electronic.

Is it something sharp, possibly needle-like that is to be used in the vicinity of that big head of yours  If not, you're alone on this one BG.

    :P

Edit, oh good, BG must have used the google button! Yay BG! :trophy:

It took a while for BG to find the info he needed. You never know what you may find though. There can be some sneaky saleswomen(they're always sneaky no matter what they do:D) that put info you can find to help them sell. This is why BG wanted help from all his nerdy fans.:D

It does look like it might be a good way to save some cash. If you buy it from a good distributor, they will warranty it.:gj:

It's much better if you live close to NYC. There are a lot of places in NYC that sell this way. B&H for one.

That sort of things works with the normal male with the 80 IQ. This is tried hourly on Big Gunns and never works. Now "flash" something else and BG might get a leeetle warm.:D

Ive bought MANY electronics directly from Hong Kong and Surrounding Countries.

They never give warranties. Direct import will be the same as if buying from Ebay, just it will be cheap and off brand. Dont expect a manual and or it to work well with computer.

They always seem to send a 3" usb cord for all electronics and a charger that overheats.

Stick with USA shippers to avoid customs 2-3 week wait and random checks.
