My baby ball died today :(
So my male ball died today. He had mites and I was treating him with Jarrusi Mite everyday. I would soak him for a hour in luke warm water then take him out change the water and spray the Jarrusi mite on him. put him back in the water and let him soak in it for another hour. I put a towel on the 6q tub that he soaked in to keep in humidity and water warm.

So it was time to take him out of the bath and put him back in his cage but when I came back to do so I found him in the water dead:( idk what happend i have been doing this same process for 3days and idk what i did but hes dead. if anyone has any explantion I would love to hear it.

    Thanx:please:

Snake mite treatments are not meant to be everyday, but I'm sorry about your loss. And I'm not implying the mite treatment was the cause of death, but stress and mite treatments IMO are toxic so it should be done liberally.

I am very sorry for your loss. He must have been to stressed out.

I do not know much but i do not believe you are supposed to use the mite spray directly on the reptile since its toxic to kill the mites. I could be wrong..

    Again i am sorry!

I've rescued wild caught snakes and did mite treatments every week or so. Mite treatments really aren't toxic as they simply dry the mites out, but IMO I just don't think it's as good for the reptile to use it daily. It's a liberal thing that is done in a tub of water as well.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

I'm not familiar with Jarrusi Mite. But as a suggestion for the future (if you run into mites again) I suggest Prevent-a-Mite (or PAM for short). It is super simple to use and completely effective. All you need to do is remove the snake and water, spray the bedding (I do it in the garage), let it dry, and put the snake and water back in. That's it. I've had 100% successful results with 1 treatment and also treat enclosures for any new comer, just in case. You can re-peat the treatment as per the directions if need be.

Jurrasi Mite is garbage and it doesn't work. I got it from Petsmart before and it's a waste of time and money. Then I used Reptile Relief and got good results.
