cool side of town

My bps warm side is between 85-90 but his cool side is as low as 69-71 is that a problem as long as he has his warm side to go to or should i be doing something about it?

Yes that is a problem, you risk getting your snake sick.

Warm side should be 90-92, I don't know what your using to regulate heat but 5 degrees is a BIG range
Cool side should be 75 at the LOWEST but it is optimal at 80-82

for the warm side I use an under tank pad hooked to a zilla thermostat. I use a cheap infrared thermometer to check the temps could that be the problem. what should i do to boost the cool side temps?

this is probably why hes not eating right now either. dang in the summer the temps were perfect but since i live in Canada and its winter that all went to crap.

If you want you can go with the flexwatt or with the plexi lid you can add a heat lamp (not on the plexi but a couple of inches away do to melting) and then you can have ambient temp help and humidity. I say this because heat lamps and ceramic heaters suck humidity.

You could cover the whole lid if humidity starts to be an issue or if the light is causing stress. Heating the tin foil should in logic act as a radiant heat panel to keep heat up. Just make sure that the BP can touch the foil if it gets to hot.
