I would try to prove out your possible het first. If she proves out then you would be able to just trade a few babies and you would knoe she is 100% het

A male clown and a breeder size het female (prove her out) are worth more than a mystic, however it really depends on your breeding plans. Also remember that over time it has been shown that recessive genes retain their value better than co-doms.

I would try and prove out your het. If she proves out you could take the offspring and buy yourself a mystic.

Are you a gambling man/woman? If the female's a normal, then make the trade. If it's het clown, then you lose out. The only problem is you don't know if she has the clown gene. I personally would stick with the clown and possible het female. But then again, imagine getting a year's head start with a female mystic. Darn... tough choice! Good luck on that one.

There is more to gain if she proves out than just one single mystic. There is less risk if she doesn't, because she's still a large breeder and can produce 100% het clowns.

    Keep her, breed her.

Unless you have a large above-breeding-size female mojave hidden away somewhere and you are REALLY hankering to produce a mystic potion this season or next, that is.
