Bird Suet Holder for Rodent Food
I saw several breeding set-ups that have home made screen holders for lab block, especially for ASF's.

I picked up a suet holder from the wild bird store (half inch squares) and filled it with Mazuri rodent food and it seems to be working fine. I don't know what it will look like in a few months but it's OK right now.

Anyone else try these bird feeders for rodents?

    Thanks, JohnNJ

I haven't ever used those, but I make HUGE food hoppers for my grow outs using 1/2" hardware cloth and it works just fine. As long as the wire holds up you shouldn't have a problem. I however am cheap, so I will keep making them out of wire myself LOL.

I use metal water troughs for grow out bins. For hoppers I use 4" PVC sewage pipe+ 1/2" mesh+ a hose clamp.

Haven't found a rodent yet that chews on PVC pipe plus it is smooth so they can't climb it.
