Want a CAD Drawing w/ exact Dimensions of your enclosure/rack idea?
Any of you guys/gals who are thinking about building a custom enclosure or rack setup who first want to know what it will look like and give you exact dimensions so you will know what and how much to buy let me know. I dont mind designing and drawing it up for you :gj: This is free of course
Just something I like doing in my spare time. It can be as simple or complex as you want. Just let me know via PM or in this thread and we can figure it out.
Quick Example I did in 5 mins...

What do you want the cage material to be made out of? And the front you would probably want like a plexiglass/lexon correct?
Yeah, I can sketch something up later this evening and over the weekend. I can post your pics up here or e-mail them to you. Just let me know.

Ok tell me if this is what you were thinking.... It is a key latch front setup with hinges. Plexi-Glass front with melamine wood....

The Plexi-Glass/Lexon is drilled with holes allowing for airflow. You can shoose what ever size you want or not even have holes at all. It was just a suggestion:)
If you want to change something or see a different view of something just let me know.

Shorty, PM replied. Just let me know.

For I<3Dreamsicles
Ok I used the material you told me you wanted to use. 2x4's and plywood. The Plexi-glass is mounted to the inside of the door so you cant see the cut.
The Doors I decided to use magnets so theres no need for a lock. You would just have (3) magnets going down each door. Very easy and very cheap.
I cut 12" holes in the top part for your heat and daylight lamps. They are screened in that way the Iguana cant get out but also wont get burned:gj:
First picture is the framing and sencond is the completed. I can give you the dimensions, etc.... but I first wanted to make sure this is what you were looking for. It is 6'x6'x29" per your request. Let me know if you need any changes to anything you see.

Well, unless there is a good way to get the vertical 2x4s mounted on TOP of the 2x4 square bottom of the frame, (so the edges are all flush) I was going to do something with the verticle ones flat on the ground, and on the inside corners of the square frame, if that makes any sense. That is why there would be the slight boarder of 2x4 around the edges of the sheets. Also, didnt plan to have the horizontal supports in the sides.
For the front with the door did you just make two 3x6 doors then? I was going to just do a 4x6 door and leave the rest wood like the sides, but I like the look of the double doors alot. How does the magnet idea work? Are they in the sides of the doors, or in the back, and then also in the wood beam down the middle? Idk how they could go in the sides of 3/4" plywood. Or how strong they would be held closed.
I was thinking about using fluroescent tube lights instead of the compacts because they cover more area in such a wide cage like this. I like the creme wood look to but I was thinking of painting it white, since I need something to seal the inside wood to be easy to clean.
Also what kind of hinges would work/ where would they be mounted?
Thanks a lot for making this up :gj:
