    Little rescue update.
OK Ya'll, here's update of my little resue. She just shed today and pooped. I'm taking the poop to the vet for a fecal float test this evening, I should have the results by Monday. My friend the vet doesn't go back into work until Sunday night. He works for an emergency vet center. Here are some pics of her to see what you all think of her. She seems to be very light colored to me. I also noticed that the redness around her vent seemed to clear up when she shed. Can the shedding process cause her to have on irritated vent area?

Thanks again for any and all feedback on this little one.

It is possible she just needed to shed off extra layers of built up skin off her vent. Glad she is doing better, let us know how the fecal goes and if she comes back negative.

    She's VERY pretty! :sunny:

A typical shed process doesn't cause the vent to look like that. However, if the irritation was just a surface issue...or an old issue that has been healing for awhile now, then it can be shed off in a single shed. I'd still keep an eye on the area and keep her substrate clean and dry. Looks to me like she's well on her way to 100% recovery in an excellent home. :D

Well. got the results back on the fecal float test and she does have internal parasites. My friend the vet won't be in to work until Sunday night, so I have to wait until then to take her in. He feels that it is not serious and some oral medication will clear her up. So, I'll wait another week till I feed her again. Or I'll see what the Vet says on Sunday night. Too feed or not.

Did they say what kind of parasites? If it's flagellates, while potentially very bad if left untreated, it's pretty common, and pretty easy to treat. I've had to treat two animals for it, and they both recovered very nicely.

I'm glad the shed went so well!
