Stepping off the Precipice

Well, yesterday was my last day at a very good job. Feels crazy to leave a job in this day and age.
Starting today I am a full time writer on a deadline.
About 6 months ago I got a book deal and my textbook manuscript is due in July 2011. I hope to spend only 3 months finishing it and then go back to work, but I'm prepared to spend as much as 6 months unemployed to get it done.
