    Need help!!!
    OK, Ya'll,

The rescue snake I got today is in really rough shape. Underweight, irritated vent, and possible dehydration. I di probe the snake, show's female. She did eat a small rat today, no regurg(that's good). She was left abandoned in a rental house for about 7 weeks. What is the best way for me to rehabilitate her? I have her enclosure up to 90F. It has been cold here for a few weeks now and she was not on heat until I got her today. She doesn't seem lethargic now. I know I have to watch for RIs. No sign of one yet. Please help.

Aye don't handle her at all, you don't want to cause anymore stress. It's a good sign that she ate tho!

Eating is definately a good sign. I would probably wait 2 weeks before feeding again. You also need to make sure she has a large waterbowl with fresh water 24/7. She will be able to drink when she wants and can also soak. Soaking will also help with dehydration.

OK, she has a waterdish big enough for her to submerge her entire body in. Temp is still around 90F and 2 hides one on either end of enclosure. She pooped right after I got her warmed up, it was kina runny. I'm assuming it was due to the poor husbandry that she had to endure until now. Hopefully she will pull through. I will keep you all posted on her progress. I'll probably have her checked out by a vet on friday.

Your doing great so far keep it up! Getting to a vet as soon as you possibly can is a good idea. As long as you keep doing everything your doing shel pull through. Good luck!
