What a nice feeling. Thought I would share.
I have been breeding ball pythons for a couple years now, and selling the extra babies I make mostly locally. I also run a small reptile rescue out of the house where I take in rescues, care for them till they are free of issues and eating regularly, then I re-home them.
I am pretty selective of who I sell my babies to, and even more selective when re-homing rescues. I go out of the way to make sure the person buying or adopting has their basic husbandry items set up and ready to go before taking possession of the animal. I delay the sale / adoption a little just to make sure they aren't acquiring the animal on a whim. I also provide every single customer with emailed links to the various sections important to newbies on ball-pythons.net so they can teach themselves the basics and then move on to the advanced stuff.
Anyway, enough about me. Here is an email I just got from one of my customers about a baby that I bred and sold. It made me feel really good inside to see that my efforts are actually making a real difference in peoples (and snakes) lives. I thought I would share it with the form that taught me most of what I know. :)
Hi Mike,
I just wanted to give you an update on the Ball that you sold us.
Everything is going great! We’ve had him a month now and he seems to be happy or at least well-adjusted. He gets a lot of attention from our three daughters and he is handled at least every other day. He has eaten 4 adult mice, and has shed once. We all handle him gently and he is responsive. He has relaxed a lot (he would go into a ball the first few times we took him out of his hide) and is now a part of the family.
All and all, we are very happy. Thank you.
Take care,
P.

Good job with the snake thing, it's always good to hear the nice stuff.
LOL, yeah I have been a bit busy selling the last of my 2010 hatchlings, and taking in new rescues. Haven't had much time to log in to the forums. For some reason, this is a busy time of the year for rescue take ins.
