    1st handling session and when?
i'm getting my new bp tomorrow. her regular feeding days have been wednesdays and i'm gonna stick to that but she'll only have been here 2 days before next weeks feeding day comes. i'm gonna offer her a rat and if she eats, great. if not, then i'll wait til the next wednesday. i know about not handling for 2 days after the snake eats but i was wondering...how long do i wait to handle her for the 1st time ? 1 week? 2?
i'm trying to get all this info straightened out and written down so i can follow them easier if they're written down, kinda like rules, lol. i have to write everything down anyways cuz if i dont i forget things. i don't plan on letting my kids near her when i'm handling cuz i wanna get the snake to where i can trust that she wont strike at my kids before i let them touch her. i have no idea how long that'll take and my daughter isnt happy about that but i explained that i'd rather get her as tame as i can before introducing everyone else. i was like
"would you rather be finally able to touch a snake that's tame or one that'll strike and try to bite?" she thought about it and was like "good point." lol
they can look at her all they want when she's locked in her cage but no touching.

Give her a week with no handling. I wouldn't even try feeding. She is getting used to her new home and it might stress her out more. I would only disturb her for the daily water changing and any cleaning that needed to be done in the enclosure.

I pretty much agree with that. I would say don't offer a meal until Friday or Saturday. If she takes it then you can start handling her for short sessions next week...

a week? ok that sounds good. i was gonna try to feed her cuz i figured i'd try to stay on whatever schedule she's already on just to make a few less changes for her to have to adjust to. and she's been such a good eater that i just didn't see her having any problems but yeah, i see your point. thx.
