Go big or go home! LOL! Just hope you have good medical insurance!!!!!!!!! I used to skate all the time when I was a kid! Back when they made street boards and ramp boards! Now they're all the same! It's also good to know I still have some skills! My 14 yr old daughter and 9 yr old son about fell on the floor with there jaws hitting the ground when I did a kick flip then ollied on to our 2 foot brick wall by our drive way! Not bad for a 33 yr old man! LOL!!!! :taz:

I have a question. How do you ollie?! I have been trying for over a year and I can't get it. It either flies off in some random direction, smacks me in the forhead or back of the lets, or I *almost* get it and it goes backwards while I connect with the pavement. I accidentally did an ollie ONCE and I can't figure out how I did it. :(

okay.....firstly the most important thing about skateboarding.....practice practice practice practice practice practice and PRACTICE!!!

    okay now how to ollie

    1. place your back foot on the tail of the board with about a quorter of your shoe hanging off the back.

    2. place your front foot just before the bottom bolts on the NOSE of your deck

    3. crouch down but try to bend your knees not your back

    4. snap the tail AS HARD AS YOU CAN!

    5. at the same time slide your front foot up and jump

this is one of the hardest tricks considering you don't know anything but once you get it you will learn alot fast!

practice on carpet(if allowed) if not practice on grass outside!

another way to do it is hold on to somthing like a hand rail and try to ollie it should help!

more or less from that all you can do is practice until you get it!

do you think Tony Hawk, Rodney Mullen, Chris Cole or Jamie Thomas got an ollie their first try? of course not they practiced and if you practice you could be as good as them!

*Wear a helmet who cares what other kids say they are stupid safety first!*

    Happy Sk8in ;D

I'm amazed at how far skateboarding has come from when I was doing it. My idols were Tony Alva and Jay Adams. None of the tricks, half-pipes, and skate parks had been invented yet. If you wanted anything other than asphalt, you had to find an empty swimming pool... Suddenly, I feel old... :(

Youtube is your friend. Also skate mags, but they probably have more complex tricks. Ollie is one of the most basic things, and shouldnt take anywhere near a year to get.... I was never very good (mostly due to lack of interest in spending all the time practicing) but I taught my self a kickflip in about two weeks or so... All it really takes is knowledge on how to do it, and lots of pratice... (also, your not going to be able to do a complex trick if you cant do the basic stuff)

Kickflip is like a step up from an ollie... I could also double flip it but never land it... never praticed it.

firstly those guys you mentioned.....were the best of the best....no one will ever be as good as they were they were the pioneers without them we wouldn't have skateboarding and don't feel old lol its not that long ago :P
