    Has anyone ever had a snake get out of a wal mart sterlite tub the ones with the green handles on the side? I have straps if need be

    I use those for my quarantines. I have never had one escape. If you're concerned you could use binder chips - the ones for larger stacks of paper. Just clip them around the edge.

    I use those tubs. I imagine if I kept a small snake in one of the large tubs, they could probably escape. But I keep the right sized snakes in each, and no one has ever managed to escape. I've been using them for about 3 months now, and have had no worries.

    The clip idea that Amy suggested is a really great one! If I am ever worried, I will totally do that!

    I have 2 of those very containers at this time with young colubrids in them and I feel secure about it. An older stronger colubrid or a ball python that is a roamer would have the strength to squeeze out of the middle of the lid I suspect.

    I use both luggage straps and binder clips. The strap will hold the lid down and the clips will close any gaps between the lid and lip of the tub...
