    Raised scales
What does it mean when a few scales on my snake are sort of lifted up - like they snag on my hand when I hold her - it only happens when you go against the "grain" but I can see a few scales are sort of lifted up.

Any suggestions on what this could be and should I be concerned. I asked the vet about it and he said that it is because she is fat/overweight - that seemed odd to me since she is one of my picky eaters and hasn't eaten in about 2 months. She is over 3 years old and weighs about 1,600 grams.

    Your thoughts.

it happens when they "go again the grain" even when i let them crawl on their own. pics would help in case their is something there or if she is overweight.

I am getting a new digital camera for xmas - can't wait- then I will post a whole bunch of pictures of my babies.

It was just a few scales that seemed like they were lifted up - no injury or sore spot was visible.

I absolutely hate the feeling of the scales catching on my hand - too funny - its like nails on a chaulkboard kinda thing - LOL

I check her tub all the time and her humidity is right where it should be 60/65% so I know it isn't from being too dry.

    Thanks for your input.
