"Shout from the highest mountain top"...your charities/good causes
Smitty has given BG an idea. Big Gunns seems to be(is) getting grief from a few because he "shouts from the highest mountain top" about things he's doing. Well BG believes everyone should have their chance.
Don't be shy. Don't think that people with think you just want a pat on the back. Tell us what you've been doing. You deserve credit.
Big Gunns really is being serious here. Let's hear it.

Please don't give BG the "I don't feel like bragging"......it's not. It wil help spread the word of what you feel is important to you.

The charity that I give all my volunteer hours to currently is Canine Assistants.

I am the proud foster mom to a beautiful golden/poodle mix named Kino who is seven months old - we were paired when she was 10 weeks old. It's not the "traditional" foster that you're used to - in other words, I'm not a puppy raiser.
But I am responsible for getting her off the farm at least once a week and taking her and exposing her to different situations - a trip to Walmart, a night out to the movies and dinner, or just recently - a long road trip out of state for the Thanksgiving holiday, where she went everywhere with me. She's the primary dog that I work with until she graduates. Every puppy gets assigned a "foster" volunteer when they turn 10 weeks old. She went to work with me on her 10 week birthday and she's a welcome guest at my job whenever I want to bring her in.
I've flown with these dogs multiple times, and I've seen how life changing they are in their partners' lives. I often ask people to donate to them in my name when asking what I'd like for Christmas or my Birthday.
All the staff and the founder of Canine Assistants - and of course the dogs are the remarkable ones - I'm just blessed to get to be a part of it!
I've also been heavily involved in the AIDS community - but after losing two buddies assigned through AID Atlanta, I've had to give that a break, it breaks my heart to get so close to someone only to watch this disease ravage their bodies and take them too soon.

I also volunteer with various community activities with Hands On Atlanta.

And every year I'm "volunteered" to be on the volunteer committee for my company's Sprint for Cancer.

I first got actively involved in volunteering my time to organizations that I care about when I went through a period of depression and a very wise person told me "Depression can't hit a moving target". That was what motivated me to get out of bed and move - and help others.
It's been a rewarding and important part of my every day life.

Matthew 6:1-34
“Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven. “Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. “And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. ...
