    Tail wagging?
I noticed when I first introduce my male, the female starts to wag her tail and kinda avoid him, and he mounts her and continues his pursuit. Is this normal for her to be wagging her tail? They locked up after a while for a good amount of time to.

definitely normal. i believe she may even be scenting the enclosure. not sure if scenting/tail wagging goes hand in hand, though.

    congrats on the lock!

That's what happened when I paired my two. It was a cat and mouse game. He chased her all over the tank while she wagged her tail. She scented the tank too. It was messy. Eventually your female will give in and let him lock up. Its cool to see for the first time. Good luck.
