is it serious?

i went in to check on my RTB in the shop im getting her from and she has a slight URI. what can i do to treat it?

I suggest not buying it. If the shops does nothing about it, its cus they dont care and most their animals are prolly sick by now.If they care they'd treat it.

the thing is it comes and gose. but she is a really good snake. what can i do to keep the URI away?

i waited 3 months for her and she has been perfectly fine till the other day. im gunna make sure she is a healthy girl. she is my baby girl.....well she's not a baby no more (she is 3) but she is my girl

I cant immagine a store leaving an animal with resperatory issues up for sale....

Dont buy it.

The shop needs to pay for the vet visit since it was under their care

i called them about her today and they r takeing care of her so imma go back on saturday and bring her home. i already paid half for her and i gotta pay the other half to bring her home. i had her on hold to set up houseing for her

Id make them take care of it. like with the tic im buying i told the guy i want him vet check clear bill of heatlh ill pay for the check up but if he has a problem the bill and the snake is yours.

I dont wanna sound to rude but are you serious?

You do understand thats like 3 days right?

If their taking care of her.... How so? Are they treating her? Sorry but you cannot treat a snake for a RI in 3 days. Thats silly.

If they take it to a vet.. read below

Now i dont want to sound to negative but heres what COULD happen plays in my mind

Snake goes to vet

Vet gives snake antibiotics (normally 10 shots every 2 days) Thats 19 days from the vet visit.

You go in and pick up a STILL sick snake. (Sorry but the vet is not going to cure a RI before Saturday. If they tell you they are... Your being lied to) and they SHOULD give u the antibiotics that the vet prescribed them.

You give the other 8 injections. What if shes not better?

Your SOL because shes in your care now? Or they going to take her back and take her to vet again?



Sorry but 3 days does not seem like enough time to heal a RI. Even if their giving her antibiotics they have it still should be 10 injections every other day (20 days)

Sounds to me like your still going to come home with a sick snake

I agree man. I understand you have paid for half the snake and you really like it, but you should really consider getting your money back. A RI infection is no joke and I think you will really regret bringing a snake with an RI infection into the same house with the rest of your collection. Even with proper precautions you still risk the health of the rest of your collection. It just not worth the risk IMO. Not to mention , I wouldn't buy from a store with sick Reptiles for sell. I would like to know the name of the place so I would be sure to stay clear of it. I know its not what you want to hear but I think you should really reconsider. Sorry I didn't have anything positive to say.
