Keeping snakes and rodents in same room?
Just wondering how many of you keep a breeding colony of rats or mice in the same room with your snakes? I have a room in my basement, and was planing on keeping my snakes and a small rat colony in that room. Right now, my snakes are in my wifes art/computer room (shes a graphic artist) and she wants the whole room back. Just wondering if that will have any effects on feeding the snakes. Cause now I'm using F/T and I thaw them out in the room with the snakes and the they know it. Any input would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Dave

My friend who breeds over 2000 rodents also keeps around 70 snakes in the same room, with no ill effects. The snakes smell food all the time, so initially they are a little more alert, but over time they get used to it.

If anything it HELPS their feeding response if you sell an animal. Cause when rodent smell is even in the room, they are up and looking for food!

I keep my ASFs in the same room as my snakes with no bad effects at all. :)
