    A boa with bad aim
Thursday, we went over to my friend's pet store, and coincidentally, it was the day to feed her 7' female BCI, Penelope. She eats fresh-killed rats, and we were feeding her a huge male rat on this occasion. She grabs it, constricts, and then you know the part where they spend a few minutes looking for the prey iterm? Well, she gaped her jaws open and proceeded to try to eat the side of her own body! I think it happened becuz the rat's blood got on her side, and maybe she smelled it and thought it was the food? She quickly stopped though; maybe the scaly texture just was not what she was looking for. She ended up eating the rat OK after that, headfirst, but it was a funny thing to watch.

You know.. a couple of weeks ago I watched one of the baby green anacondas at work do the same exact thing, except it took him awhile to figure it out! Kinda freaked me out.

I recently spilled Chunky Beef and Mushroom soup on myself and almost ate my left arm. Stuff happens.
