I got my geckos! (No Pics, Quick question about diet!)
So there was an expo today in Mississauga, and I was FINALLY able to get my 5 geckos off of Mark Orfus from Northern Gecko. Excellent guy to work with, I wouldn't hesitate to work with him again.

So, along with my geckos I definitely purchased some CGD. My question about it is, am I able to freeze it? It doesn't say on the bag.

Also, did anybody else here from Canada (possibly the States?) go to this expo? I had a great time.

Most people just put it in the fridge and that will make it last for months.

For months? I'm not sure what we're talking about. Still in powdered form or mixed?

In powedered form it is good up to a year if kept in the fridge, 6 months if kept at room temp. If you are mixing up a batch of it, it is only good for 1 week if kept in the fridge. I have read that freezing it can damage/degrade some of the nutrients in the product so I don't recommend it just to be safe.

Yeah, i was talking about powdered form lasting a long time. I have heard of people mixing it up, putting in milk caps and freezing it. Then when its comes time to feed the put it in the cage and it thaws out. I don't like my food that way so i think the cresties will prefer freshly made. It only takes a minute or two to mix up, why not make it fresh?

Wow, I had no idea about this, never heard it before. It doesn't say "keep refrigerated" anywhere on the bottle, so I'm just a little confused  I have the T-Rex Repashy diet, and I've just been keeping it at room temp for the past 4 months or so. If I start refrigerating it now would that be alright? And will a gecko get sick from it if it goes past 6 months??
